Neglected boilers can use more gas or electricity, heat less effectively, wear out earlier and develop safety risks such as gas leaks or carbon-monoxide production. Cleaning and inspection help the appliance stay efficient, dependable and safe.
Service and statutory checks
Follow the manufacturer’s service schedule and current Romanian law. Pimlico recommends an annual service before winter and notes that the periodic technical verification, VTP, is required every two years. Requirements can change, so use an ISCIR-authorised provider and confirm the current interval for the appliance.
What a proper inspection covers
Typical work includes the burner and heat exchanger, fan and combustion-gas route, operating pressure, circulation pump, gas and water leak checks, thermostat, sensors and safety controls. The exact procedure must follow the manufacturer and regulatory requirements.
Urgent warning signs
Arrange qualified help for pressure that repeatedly falls or rises, banging, whistling or squealing, intermittent hot water, higher energy use, or a burner flame that appears yellow or orange. A suspect combustion or gas issue is not a DIY diagnosis.
Safe homeowner checks
You can monitor the pressure shown by the appliance, keep the outside and surrounding ventilation clear, bleed radiators as instructed and use a programmable thermostat. If leaving during freezing weather, use the frost-protection guidance in the manual rather than simply switching everything off.
Use authorised technicians
Boiler servicing and the formal periodic check must be completed by appropriately ISCIR-authorised technicians. Opening internal components yourself can create a serious hazard and may invalidate the warranty.
