Sealed into the worktop
The hob is seated on its gasket and sealed, so a pot boiling over ends up on the worktop rather than inside the cabinet below. Gas models are connected and leak-tested; electric and induction models get a suitable circuit.
Every burner, every zone
Each burner or zone and its control is tested individually before handover, including the flame-failure device where the model has one.
Before first use
You are shown the controls, the child lock where the model has one, and the cleaning that keeps a glass surface free of scratches.

Changes to the scope
If the scope changes after work begins, the reason and cost are discussed before proceeding.
