Every new machine ships with transport bolts locking the drum, and running it with them in place can wreck the bearings in a single cycle. They come out first, the packaging is cleared, and the machine is levelled so it does not walk across the floor at spin speed.
The supply hose goes onto a sound valve, and the drain hose is set at the height the manufacturer specifies — too low and the machine siphons and refills endlessly, too deep and it floods. Both mistakes look fine until the first wash.
The machine runs before handover: filling, draining and spinning are watched through a cycle, and every joint is checked dry while the installation is under pressure.
