Mounted at the height that works
Too low and the hood is in your face; too high and it pulls nothing. It is fixed securely at the height the manufacturer specifies for the hob below, and checked for vibration and noise before handover.
What a working hood saves you
Cooking steam that is not extracted ends up as condensation, mould and swollen cabinet fronts. An extraction route that actually works is cheaper than repainting the kitchen every two years.

The duct run is kept short and smooth — every unnecessary bend costs airflow, and a badly routed outlet can hand the kitchen its own fumes back.
